Farmed by the Mereness, Longmore, Beach/Thorson, Carlson, takes families. Ben Carlson farmed here 1958-1984. The Orinoco also farm buildings are left of this photo. After a farmer was killed crossing the road the milk his cows, this milking barn (upper building) was built on the property(1940-50 timeframe) The machine building and the house were built shortly after. See roll 32 photo 16 for the rest of this farm. It was known as Lake View Farm, and encompassed land from South Shore Drive on both sides of Hwy 50, about 1/2 mile east, from Town Hall Road and down CT F about 1/2 mile.
In the 1979 photos, it is roll 39, photos 13 & 14, with other angles in photos 1&2.
The milking barn had 42 stanchions, and 4 box pens. Heifers and young stock were in a barn across Hwy 50 until the barn was moved and attached to the milking barn about 1968. That barn was then converted to have 22 stanchions for young stock, a large loose pen, 3 horse stalls, and 1 horse box stall. There was a large silo, a grain feed room, 2 corn cribs. Oats were stored in the barns across the highway, until the barn moved, then a metal oat bin was built between the corn cribs and the highway.
