The Oakwood Supperclub on West Fulton Street Waupaca Wisconsin. It was demolished sometime in the 1990's. Aldi's grocery store is located there now.
This was one of the most popular spots for wedding receptions in the area!
I worked there as a cook for about three years. 1974,75 and 82. Kubisiaks - super people to work for. Very nice. Treated you like family.
My first real job, 81-84, started as a busboy and moved to banquet cooking.
Paul and Lil Kubisiak were good to work for, they treated you like family. They scolded you like their own children and congratulated you when you accomplished things in your life. Still hard to believe there's an Aldi's there now, seemed like the Oakwood would be there forever.
My Aunt and Uncle owned the Oakwood. Wonderful place. I think almost everybody in our family had their wedding reception there!
