I lived on this farm from my birth in 1946 until December 1960. Would gather the eggs every day in the chicken house. When my great-great grandfather purchased the farm just from the homesteader just the middle section of the home was built. He added the two wings so there was room for the family. We moved to Wisconsin and my grandfather rented the farm to various people and without any pride of ownership the buildings slowly went into disrepair. The barn burned down in the mid 70s. Lots of good memories growing up there!!!

This farm was owned by Floyd Streit in 1971. Was half a mile from our farm and my siblings and I grew up with his kids.

St. Mary’s church. Was built by a company from Mendota in 1870 and was in use until the 1970s when it was ordered town down by the bishop. I served Mass there in the 1950s for about six years. My great great grandfather is buried in the cemetery there.

This is the first farm my great great grandfather purchased in about 1855. He sold this farm to one of his sons who had 14 kids and purchased the farm half a mile away. He passed away there in 1904 at age 90.
