I am almost 100% certain that this is the house which used to stand on the north side of Kehrer Rd about 1/2 mile up from Old Winchester Rd. I believe that It would have been the Samuel Kurtz (1848-1912) homestead. The house was demolished in about 2010, after having been unoccupied for several years.

I believe that this is the old Isaac Kurtz home on Old Winchester Rd., Whetstone Twp., Crawford County, Ohio, probably built around 1880-90 and demolished some time in the late 1980s or 90s.

This is the old John J. Kurtz home on Old Winchester Rd. in Whetstone Twp. It was built by his parents some time between 1880 and 1900 and was demolished after sustaining severe damage in a fire in the fall of 2009. My father was born in that house and grew up there. I remember it well.

Both structures are gone now. The church was torn down in 2006 while the school building "bit the dust" some years earlier. My father started out his education there and the it was the family church for many years. I remember both buildings well. The bell from the church is now in use at Grace Fellowship Church in Mansfield, OH.

This is the old Jacob Sherer (my great great grandfather) homestead on Old Winchester Road, Whetstone Twp., Crawford county, Ohio and is still standing and habitable in 2020.

This is the former home of Samuel, then Simeon, and then Robert Sherer near the corner of Old Winchester and Shearer Roads in Whetstone Twp., Crawford County, Ohio. It is still being lived in by a family descendant. It replaced an earlier family home which was destroyed by fire back in 1887 and so was built some time shortly thereafter.
