George & Francis (Grof) Schmidt Home. The old house behind the new one was the house that Joseph & Mary Grof built & raised most of their children, including my husband's father. It was sold to his sister Francis & her husband George & continues to be farmed by Grof descendants, includeing the younger George Schmidt with occasional help from his 1st cousin 1x removed Jesse Grof. The old house was just recently taken down. Such history on this property. Love this photo!

George & Marie Dorn Homestead. House was moved to this location from it's original location on the Cook, Nebraska spur in 1958. Homestead is now owned by their grandson, Travis Dorn (my brother). I grew up north of the "Big blue Harvestor silos". The homestead aged with good farm use & has changed. I watched the barn go down in the 90s during a shear windstorm. Some of the outbuildings are gone while the house is still there along with some of the outbuildings & the silos. This is how I remember it up until the 1990s.
