Arco (former Sinclair), SE corner of IN 60 and I-65 east of Hamburg (interchange has since been rebuilt and relocated). Building recently leveled - was a seedy convenience store for a lot of years, you'd need a program to keep up with how many brands it's been. BP, no-name, Citgo, and finally a Sunoco.

Athens Tool & Die. Have moved the marker to an *approximate* location - this was either US 31 or US 72. Definitely NOT east of Ardmore, as the map first showed.

Gordon Chrysler-Plymouth - Athens, Ala. Moved marker to *approximate* location; cannot place exactly where it was, but most likely US 31. Original location was shown as being east of Ardmore.

WRSA 96.9 studios and transmitter. A longtime 'beautiful music' beacon for the Decatur/Huntsville area. "Studios overlooking the beautiful Tennessee Valley."

And, like most good things, Lloyd's is gone. They closed and sold out a couple years back - I believe a Raising Cane's now sits on this site.

Yes - Ansell. It was into the '90s. Condoms were made in Troy, Alabama. But not "Trojans" (!!) - this was their big competitor, "Lifestyles." There's a tall old-school water tower in downtown Troy. I always thought they should've fabricated an oversized condom to "fit" over the tower. You know, much in the same way Clanton, Ala. - famous for peach production - has a giant peach water tower visible from I-65.

That sign on the roof looks like a "Norge ball" - which for years were used for the old Norge Village chain of laundromats ... close up, I can make out "VILLAGE"

Dutch Pantry - once a small chain of eat-in restaurants. Now down to just one - Clearfield, Pennsylvania along I-80.

McBoxed. I like that - the name, if not the change.

Yeah - somehow I'm not surprised. They've since been assimilated into the "plain gray box" look.
