This is where my dad, his parents and grandparents lived. It’s still in the family on the road that holds our family name; Root Lane. I’m the first generation to have never resided at this address.
I did not know there were chicken coops south of the circle driveway. The main barn has deteriorated significantly. The outbuildings north of the main barn have all been removed. Many Thanksgiving and childhood holiday memories took place here. Many long workdays too. Many dairy cows were milked here. After my grandfather died, sheep kept the cow yard mowed.
