The Shell Gas Station on the northwest corner of Rt. 12 and Rt. 120 (now Volo Village Rd.) was operated by Carl Thorsell (1909-1972) and his brother, John Thorsell (1914-2000). The corner and additional property was converted to a nursery named Castle Gardens until 2016. The corner now has a Speedway Gas Station. Castle Gardens is west of the Speedway.
Across the street from Thorsells use to be a wax company, before it became Cross Sport and
gun Shop. Owned and operated by George and Elaine Cross.
