This shows the old Blackland elevator which was closed in about 1982, and demolished in 1989 (Info from Norman Jordan, personal communication, 1999). This elevator was located on the west side of the road, along Hwy 27, now known as Lincoln Memorial Parkway. The old B&O RR is also long gone now.
The section of railroad that passed by Blackland was built in 1901 by the Springfield & Decatur Railway; this particular stretch extending 26 miles between Boody and Derry Farm, Illinois, according to info on this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikiped...
This railroad was later part of the Cincinnati, Indianapolis & Western Railroad, later, Indiana, Decatur & Western, and eventually became part of the B & O Railroad. The railroad was abandoned around 1977, and the tracks taken up in about 1981 or 1982.
