This is the Joseph C. Brunk House from the 1800's. Five generations of Brunk's lived in this home since starting in 1839. This home was built from a limestone quarry directly behind the house. The limestone quarry also supplied limestone to the Capitol Building. Rumor has it that Abraham Lincoln used to come out for the Morgan horses at this farm. This home was to be turned into the Brunk Morgan Horse Museum, but a fire in 2005 completely destroyed the home, leaving only the side two walls. The 1800's barn was left intact and still stands.
Brunks began living in the home when it was completed in 1829.
