This property was known as the ‘Moore Brothers Oak Lawn Seed Farm' it was established in 1900, and sold at auction on, October 17, 1957. At one point, the property even had a large barn with the company’s logo on it, which was gone by the mid 1960s.
On the afternoon of August 6, 1977, a EF-3 tornado started near Irwin’s Park, and went northeast towards the Glenwood Park subdivision, destroying or damaging nearly 40 homes. This farm was impacted by said tornado, while I’m uncertain of it’s damage, it’s likely what led to all the structures on the farmstead to be torn down, with a new house (the one in this aerial) built on the property shortly thereafter. The newer house is still there today.
