This was the Buena Vista School at the intersection of McConnell Road and Red Oak Road. On March 8, 1954 the board of the Orangeville Community Unit School District 203 passed a resolution declaring the building as "not needed for school purposes". Petitions were circulated to place the school sale proposal on the April 1954 election ballot (Freeport Journal-Standard - March 10, 1954). In John Drury's 1955 aerial photo pictorial book titled "This is Stephenson County, Illinois", the school building was photographed and noted that it had been discontinued in 1953.
