This was my Uncle Glen and Aunt Marceil Nixon's farm. Before they were able to buy this farm they were renting, working and living on a farm. A fire broke out at 4:00 am April 16, 1941. Glen woke up and the family escaped in their night clothing, which was all of their possessions save. Glen and Marceil had 5 children, the first two dies in infancy, but the other three children are still living. Glen passed in 1985 and Marceil in 1989. They were married for 62 years. Glen could always find the good in anything and told wonderful stories. He had a great sense of humor and chewed tobacco. (You never wanted to sit behind him in his car with an open window, because he chewed tobacco and spit it out the window.) Marceil was a lovely petite lady, who loved children and played the piano! One of his sons still owns the place it's a bit sad and run down. I think it misses all of their laughter and music! We miss them.
