This is the Benanti/Schwarz Farm purchased in 1956 by Joe and Irene Benanti. My father immigrated from Germany and came from New Jersey to go to Indiana Tech, where he met Lyngail Benanti. They moved up to the farm from Fort Wayne in the early 1970's and my dad started farming, with only the 62 acre Benanti farm. John and Lyngail still reside at the farm. The farm served as home base for the farming operation until a new farm shop and storage building was completed in early 2015 a half mile down the road on the former "Bud and Rosellen Howe" Farm, which was purchased by the Schwarz Family in 2008. The family now farms approximately 2500 acres.
