This was Allen and Lidia Wentworth's farm on Vernon Ridge, in Switzerland County. They passed away around 1986 to 1989. Only their oldest son out of four boys and five girls is still alive, Clarence Wentworth off of Charleston Rd in new Albany Indiana. He's a WWII veteran and my uncle. This was my grand parents farm and and the place that holds my most cherished memory's growing up. If you remember the TV show the Waltons you might get the picture of whats locked in my head. The old tractor is a John Deere A about 1939. The old car was a 1948 or 1949 Plymouth Deluxe that grandpa bought second hand. It's original owner was actress Irene Dunn, it broke down on her when she came home to Madison for a visit and she traded it in and grandpa just happen to buy it. Of course all his kids teased him about never parting with it because it had belonged to a famous actress. My wife and myself just built a new house on 60 acres of grandpas old farm last year. I guess you could say I finally came home. I can set on my front pouch in a rocker now, stair at the old house across the road and see so many memories still moving around. The old corn crib is still there too, but the barn, old garage and pond are long gone. Thanks for more memories. Steve
