This is the farm of Henry and Bess Patterson. My parents, Lyle and Ann Patterson lived there and farmed, and dad (Lyle) taught school in Titonka 9 miles south. They raised their three sons, Robert, Ronnie and Randy here while attending school in Buffalo Center. This was 1968, and in the upper foreground you can see our neighbor Alfred Christ baling hay, so it was summer or late summer, so I would have been going into the 9th grade. The only thing different is, there used to be an old windmill by the small pumphouse, but that summer a piece of farm equipment caught the edge of it while coming out of the field and brought it down.
