This is the house I grew up in. In the last 30 years, The Kentucky Speedway can be seen from the front door of this house. Road 1039 at Exit 55 off I-71 circles this house now south of the interstate. The huge old maple tree still stands in the front yard. Many memories made in that tree and the sandbox that was under it. My sisters and I along with cousins and friends played there often. My own sons, nephews, and a niece all played there while all of their mothers went to work. The house had no air conditioning. A coal and wood fired furnace heated it in the winter. My parents added our first indoor bathroom when I was about 4. Life was much simpler then.
