This is Scott & Diane Smith's farm on the Hughes Road in Mapleton, ME
Bennie Hughes owned this farm in the 1960's.
I used to ride my bike up there and talk to Bennie's wife Jesse while she was gardening. She was 80+, and I was about 7. I announced to my mother that she was my best friend.
Bennie and Jesse were my great-grandparents, loved my visits to the farm.
Jesse and Bennie were my great aunt and uncle.
My Mom, Glenna Condon Crouse roomed there when she taught school at one room schoolhouses in Mapleton.
She told me it was too far to travel every day from Condon Hill, Mapleton (about four miles) where she lived with her parents, Everett and Susie McDonaugh Condon.
