My grandparent's house. Carter family. Hughes Rd. Mapleton, ME.
I grew up in this house. The barn is gone now, and a machine shop about the same size is in its place. It is the home of Engine Technologies. The maple and elm trees are gone. There is a lilac hedge along the side of the house that is as tall as the house, and another one along the end of the machine shop that is taller than the house. The Japanese Knotweed (AKA Dambamboo) in front of the house now grows up over the door and windows. There is a birch tree in the back yard, and a pyramid-shaped shed that was for grain storage when Dad was still farming.
The farm land was sold to the Smith's, who later sold it to Cavendish.
