Jon Durepo farm in Fort Fairfleld.
Freeman J Philbrick and his new wife Jessie Fawcett (of Sackville, NB) built this place in early 1900’s. (1920?). They farmed potatoes here. They raised sons Frederick, George, Henry, John (my father) and daughter Joanne here on this farm. Jessie (my grandmother) moved into town and bought a large home at 37 Presque Isle St. around 1949. I often remember hearing the total cost to build the house and buildings out here on the farm was $4,000.00 in 1920. We grew up in an upstairs apartment above my grandmother at 37 PI street. Jessie Philbrick my grandmother was an amazing amazing pioneering Christian woman. I was so fortunate to live in the same home with her for my entire childhood.
