Lee Roix lives here

The house was built in 1953 by Norman and Dolly Morin. My parents (Dean and Blanche Roix) bought the house in 1959. The house to the left was built by Norman and Dolly because their family was expanding and Dolly needed a larger house to raise their children. The garage was added in 1962 and later extended to a 2 car garage. The potato house to the right was owned by Louis A John Cyr and they live up the road. Daniel Cyr (his son) now owns the homestead. The potato house was torn down in the late sixties and fill was brought in to make a continuous lawn between the Roix's and Bruce and Stacey Pelletier who own the home next door. The field in the back of the house was used by the neighborhood kids to play baseball and used for other sports. There were many kids in the area and growing up here was great. My dad passed in 1985 and Lee and Linda Roix purchased the house in 1988 and still live here. Our daughter, Jessica, was raised here and now we have plans to have Greyson (our grandson)use the back as his playground. The Madawaska Water District now has a pumping station that is located in the top left of the picture. There are 7 wells now in the field towards the river (we used to call the platean)and this supplies a portion of the towns water supply.
