Lewis Cote farm house on Lavertue Rd. Whit building with all the window was the chicken coop, egg production
This would currently be my father's (Dennis Cote) house. Also the house I grew up in. It was built by my Great Grandfather Lewis Cote. I'm pretty sure the house was built in the 1940s. Not sure about the barns. There is now a 2 door garage with a porch on top instead of the 2 patches of grass, cement walls and steps in the front of the house. Was reconstructed in the early 2000s. Most of The windows visible in the picture have been changed. There has also been another big barn built that would be on the other side of the potato field behind the other barns already existing in this photo.
The property looks exactly how it was when growing up. Absolutely wonderful memories. I believe the house was built in 1944 or 1945. I was about two years old at the time. One of 12 children. My brother Gerard started the egg business approximately 65 years ago, however, after a year or so he decided to go to college and brother Normand took over. Normand continued the business supplying the North East through his retirement. Deanne's father Dennis is my nephew who purchased the farm house from Dad years ago.
