Ernie Weaver's, Kris Collier's and the old Trafton House (Libby's now)

Main Street, Ashland Maine

Ashland Diner is before Weaver's house on the left.

From the left, we see the former Ashland Diner which has been moved. Then there is the late George Weaver residence and garage in the rear. I still occupy this home. The next home was built by Lawrence Gagnier and it has changed hands a couple times. It is currently owned by Kris Collier. His garage is next to it in the rear. When I was a youngster, the next home was occupied by Dina Bushey, her husband having been deceased. Dina is also deceased.

There are no longer trees in my front yard. And, the large tree Dina Bushey had is also gone.

I no longer make a garden that can be seen behind the house. I can see a good stand of corn at the end of the upper left "X" marker. Also, the single garage door with inside sliding track is now a two door overhead closing type. The vehicle beside the garden is a mystery to me at present. A family member may help me.

Also missing in front of my garage, is the gas tank with manual pump used to fill the farm tractor and pickup truck.

Also notice the sign in front the former Bushey place. It indicated TOURIST HOME. Dina had rooms to rent. The sign is gone.

Well, Ernie the old car next to the garden is Lawrence Gagnon's 1953 2 door Buick that dad bought for me to travel to NH to attend Plymouth State. That is where I bought the Pontiac for you from my landlady. It is setting in the left driveway. The headlight actually fell out of the Buick's fender when I closed the door in the parking lot at the college. Everything went downhill from there.

The cluster of Dutch Elm trees on the right side of the lawn had a nice circular shape and kids could climb inside and hide out - great fun. Too bad all the Dutch Elm trees in town died out.. This picture was taken the summer after my junior year in high school.
