George Starkey Farm Lakeview Dr So.China,Me

239 (right) and 247 (left) Lakeview Drive, China, ME. 239 Lakeview, identified as the George Starkey Farm by Sheldon above, still stands, though its associated outbuildings have changed. The farmhouse and the first ell off the right side look almost identical to in this picture, with the same enclosed front porch along the front. It was clad in wood-colored cedar shingles until around 2020, when it was repainted red. The small shed building with the open door to the left of the home still exists, though the extension behind it is gone.
The largest changes are to the right of the house. The ell connecting the first ell to the barn, as well as the barn itself and the small outbuilding near it were lost prior to the 1990s. Eventually a small diner building was built on this plot of land (nearer to the road), though I do not know the name. By 2010 this diner building had been demolished, and a small shed placed on the land for the sale of local seafood, eventually growing to the name of Majek Seafood. By 2013 they were serving cooked seafood meals, and by 2018 had constructed a larger building and added parking to the site. In 2022/2023 the building was further expanded, and much of the area in front of the barn is now paved.
247 Lakeview has also seen a bevy of changes over the years. The building seen here was either demolished or heavily modified (I'm leaning towards the second) some time before 2007. It appears as though the roof was lifted and a second floor added, and some additions have been built to both the right and left side of the house. There is still a shed on the property, but it's difficult to say if it's the same as here.
The large food/hay plots behind the properties are wooded now.
