Jan and Bill Fitzpatrick, my aunt and uncle owned this store for many years and lived there as well. They owned it at the time of the fire in 2008.

The Vantown store was part of my daily routine in the 1990s. I drove the length of Howell Rd, from Howell to Mason, six days per week. I stopped there almost every day. The job that I had that took me through there was very stressful and that place was like an oasis. Although the store had been closed when it burned, I was very sad to see the empty spot where it once stood, but relieved to have read that nobody was hurt.
