My gosh, this was my Dad's farm back in the 1950,s and earlier. He retired in 1954 and my brother took over. But he then sold it after nine years. He just was not a farmer. I love seeing it as it was. The place has definitely changed. But the barn remains the same, except there is now an extension on the back and more silos. I would have loved to see the "outhouse", but the trees are hiding it

Hi Kathy! It's fascinating to hear about your family's farm and its evolution over the years. Are there any specific memories or stories about growing up in Stearns County that the photo brings to mind? We'd love to hear more about the changes you've noticed since 1969 and the experience of seeing your dad's farm in a different era.

Lots of memories, Alexis. I would not know where to start.
Also, lots of changes on that place from then to now: no chicken coop is one. There are more silos and an extension onto the back of the barn. Plus a number of little things. But I like seeing it as I knew it.

I grew up on this farm until I was about nine years old. That would be from the late 1940's to early 1950's. So I have lots of memories from back then.
