Yes, this is the farm where I lived from 1943 to 1959. My father, Andy Piper, purchased the farm from John Briles in late 1942 or early 1943. In 1964, I purchased half interest in the farm, which then consisted of 260 acres. After my father's estate was settled, in 1974, my two sisters each obtained 80-acre parcels and I retained ownership of the remaining 100 acres, including the house and barn pictured, until I sold it in 2012. The main change from the picture is that the field in the foreground, which was part of my sister's 80-acre portion, has now grown up in brush. The last time I drove by the farm, in 2016, the barn was still standing, although it was in poor condition. In the 1950's, when I was a teenager and working on the farm, we milked between 20 and 30 cows (selling Grade C milk, which was used to make Osceola cheese) and raised corn, wheat and milo.
