I used to own and live in this house from 1989 till 2001, raised my boys there. Every summer an old resident would stop by asking to see it and tell me a new story about the place. The township tried to buy it from me and use it for a historical site but they could not agree, I finally abandoned it and moved to Keyport and a few years after that someone bought it from me short sale and did a great deal of restoration work. I still remember the day the old mill collapsed, was 94 or 95 and not a breeze in the sky but the sound was very loud and dust flew! My youngest came running in the house and said "I didnt do it!" hahaha Also before I moved in the road had been moved so it did not run next to the house, too many accidents where people went off the cliff and into the river. I have way more stories to tell, some of them supernatural, so I will wait and see if anyone else has tales to share.....

ok just one for today....one year at Christmas time we put the tree up in the corner of the living room and moved a rocker to the dining room to make room for it. The tree fell over like 3 times! that sat i went to north jersey to visit a friend and he friends daughter was there who had turned 13 that day....she came to me and said Anna says to put her chair back or she will keep knocking over your tree. Since I believed this could be a real ghost (as i can feel them just not see or hear them) I got indignant and said this is my house, my friend reminded me that it was also her house as many times the spirits get locked in and they do not know time has passed. I went home and moved the chair next to the tree as a compromise and it never fell over again. At this same day a man came to her and said for me to clear the junk I had tossed in the mill as he intended to come back in another life and restore it. I told him I would and when I had the money I did. I totally believed this girl as my grandmother also came through and she knew things about her she could not have known. Also at one point I had a paranormal team come in and research it, Anna even materialized enough to be caught on film! Many years later when I was trying to sell the house Anna appeared to a new friend of mine and she gave me to information that I needed to help it sell (that story for another day) anyway I told my friend to tell Anna that when I pass over to come say hello so that I could giver her a proper thank you....my friend started to tear up and said Anna had been close to me in one of my past lives and that is why she was watching over me now. The I cried too! It really is incredible the past lives, this house was built in 1775, at one point had been a hospital, another a hotel, so had many spirits attached to it....
