This was home and store of Harvey Gobble. Store only operated for around 10 years. Location is now the site of the River Trail Shell at intersection of US 64 and NC 801.

What was the name of the store? What did they sell?

If you zoom in on the store you can read the sign as "H L Gobble Grocery." It was basically what we would call a convenience store today. Also had gas pumps, Pure Oil. May have operated as much as 20 years. Do not remember for sure but looks like he may have had a garage on one side. Mr. Gobble was born in 1905 and died at 96 in 2001.
