Likely originally built as a German Township One Room School.
Possibly was a school, but checking https://historicmapworks.com/Map/US/4... to see - is it the "S Shuman" property where the building has a cross-tip or other indication it's not a house? Many of those buildings were drawn with more detail for some reason
