Gettysburg School

This is Gettysburg School on Auld Street in Gettysburg. It was Grades 1-12 for many years. It consolidated with Greenville in 1972. The building is now known as the Cardinal Center and is owned by the town. Activities are held here , and it can be rented to have receptions or parties.

I attended school here for all 12 years. There were about 500 students. I graduated in 1967. This school was a wonderful place to learn and have many friends. My father graduated from Gettysburg, too!

I went there through 6th grade. I loved that school. It just seemed like everyone was so close and we had each other's backs. I hated going to Greenville. There you were ignored, unless your parents had money, owned a business, or you were big in sports, or cheerleading. My last 6 years of school were the most miserable time of my life.... Gettysburg school, I just felt very protected.

"New" Gettysburg/Adams Township school. The "Old" Gettysburg school stood where the gym to the right of the current school stands.

Been by this place.
