This home is 13213 Arlington Road, Norwalk, halfway between Milan and Berlin Heights Ohio (photo 1980). It was built by Nick Georgiafandis in 1978 with the help of a freshman high school boy named Alan Hohman. Masonry by George Tigges, Electric and Plumbing by Dick Bastein and Ed Zacharyl. Drywall by Dick Carsten. All else was built by Nick, Alan and a few friends. Rafters were raised with the help of Jim Whittington and the Edison High School football coaches one day at a roof raising party when an additional "L" was added in 1982 on the left (south) side to add extra rooms including a piano studio for wife Kelley. 12 year old daughter, Carolyne Cassidy helped frame the windows in that addition. Behind the house where you see a dogpen, a playyard, swing and raised playhouse were added in 1988 and the dogpen was moved to the right side of the house. Behind the dogpen an old English style walking garden was added with arborvitae and arched entrances all around. By the back storage garage the right side was the vegetable garden and greenhouses were added on the left side. The field beyond that became an apple orchard. The swampy area behind that was dug out in 1988 and became a pond. That pond is halfway back on the property. Beyond it now (in 2016) there is another orchard and a 2 acre field for sweet corn, melons and pumpkin/squash. In 2007, the playyard was replaced with a screened pavilion. Nick was the Band and Choir director at Edison High School for 36 years from 1971 - 2007. Alan was a member for Nick's choir at the time they built the house.
