White's Corner was named for the White family (patriarch Steven White moved to Ohio from Pennsylvania circa 1803) who owned 180 acres of land including White's Corner. Steven's son James White gave his youngest son, Thomas, the farm in the mid 1800's. The farm was sold to Allen Weller in 1913 where it eventually passed to his son, Lawrence, and two daughters (Frances and Louise).
Lawrence farmed the land until the mid'80s. He sold the livestock and started selling fresh produce at White's corner. Although I lived in Texas by the mid-80s, we always drove down the road to White's corner during summer visits to load up on fresh white corn and tomatoes. Lawrence Weller sold the last 7 acres of the farm in 1993 where he grew that produce. The family farmhouse is still standing at 4378 W Franklin St in Bellbrook.
