This was purchased by my father in the early thirties and served as our 80 acre family farm from 1940 until it was purchased and demolished by the land fill in the late 1990's. It is one mile east of Oberlin Road on Butternut Ridge on the South side. It is about 1/4 mile east of the bike path, and the creek in the foreground is called Squires Ditch. The area behind the large barn is under the land fill now. The big barn was constructed by my Uncle, Fred Kleps, Sr., who also built the original Grace Lutheran Church in Oberlin. Fred was married to my Father's sister and lived on the property during the thirties with his family after losing his house in Lorain, near the Lakeview Park, during the depression.

This farm was right across the street from my family’s farm. Our families worked closely together for years until they moved away. We used to store hay in that barn until it was demolished by the landfill. I miss that place.
