Old country store and Sohio station on the east side of Rt 58 north of Rt 162, Huntington. Very hard to recognize the building today as the awning is gone and that end of the building is covered with siding.

Thank you mixdenny. I didn't recognize it!

Right now it is Chet and Fran's.

Kit, Chet and Fran's is across the street and further south, just south of Rt 162. I corrected the red pin for this building as it was off a bit. If you sign up for an account then the map in the lower right corner will have the actual photographic satellite view available and you can see the buildings.

Again my mistake. Chet and Fran's has been there a long time. (I live down the road from it) I'm wondering if C&F's was not in business yet as I can't imagine 2 stores and gas stations so close to each other. C&F's is on the southwest side close to 162. Thanks for being patient with me mixdenny! ~kitb

This has been here since the 1930s. Until the 1950s this was Yost's Service Center run for 21 years by Edwin and Beatrice Yost. Then, up until 1979 it was operated by Chester Rapean and his wife, Francis. The name stayed when they retired. I had noted the history on other photos of this store but not this one.

My brother lives in Huntington on Rt 162.
