Hi Barb! How fascinating that you grew up in that home and those are your greenhouses! We'd love to hear more about your experiences. Did you have any favorite memories or activities in Lorain County? Also, we're curious to know if the farming has changed since the 1969 photo was taken.
My parents lived there with the five of us children. It was a lot of hard work running the greenhouses. One of my favorite memories was going to school at East Carlisle on Grafton Road which is no longer there. I suspect they will be building a housing development there soon. Fond memories was swimming at the South Rec (it was called). Not sure it exists anymore. There was no farming on this property. We used to ride horses at the Smith's residence down the road.
