In 1956 this was the Stanley Pitts farm on the west side of Rt 511 just south of Austin Rd in Camden Twp. The house was built by D.L. Perkins and the Pitts purchased it in 1940. The farm is 62 acres and in 1956 the Pitts rented another 230 acres to farm. They raised Hereford cattle and grew crops. The barn shown here is the replacement for the original which burned in 1944. It looks very much the same today except the row of silos is gone.
Featured as Mystery Farm number 38 by the Wellington Enterprise on August 23, 1956. Search the Lorain County home page for "mystery" to see other farms.
