Roy Baker's 100 acre farm on the south side of Griggs Rd west of Quarry Rd, Rochester. Mr Bakers also farmed an adjoining 165 acres to produce feed for his herd of 35 Holsteins.
The distinctive brick home still looks great today. The main barns are still there and a newer garage is next to the house.
Featured in the Wellington Enterprise as a "Mystery Farm" in the 1950s. This series of articles had a brief history and an aerial photo of each farm. Thanks to Cindy Kurpely of the Rochester Historical Society for providing the article. Search the Lorain County main page for "mystery" to see other farms featured.
