Merrit Parker's 60 acre farm on the south side of Griggs Rd east of Quarry Rd northbound, Rochester. Mr Parker was the president of the Lorain County Agricultural Society and president of the county fair. The land was first purchased by Orsemus Fisher in the mid 1800s then passed to the Ledyard family from which Mr Parker was descended. In addition to farming he raised sheep and boarded race horses. He named it Parkhaven Farms. The farm appears much the same today. A row of silos is now behind the barns.

Featured in the Wellington Enterprise as a "Mystery Farm" in the 1950s. This series of articles had a brief history and an aerial photo of each farm. Thanks to Cindy Kurpely of the Rochester Historical Society for providing the article. Search the Lorain County main page for "mystery" to see other farms featured.
