Bergman Orchards on OH-269/Bridge Rd.

This was my first job when I was 14. The house is now dark brown, there's a mobile home directly behind the house as well as some a couple barns.

Hi Michele,
What did you do at this job? Do you have a fun memory from work you would like to share?

Hi Alexis! This is a local farm market/greenhouses too, around the corner from my family farm/house where I grew up.
I could walk down our lane and through their orchard to get to this one! They had 3 markets at one time all within perhaps 2-3 miles of each other, now just this one still and one on Rt 53, Catawba Rd. John Bergman started his family business selling produce out of a wheelbarrow!
All the kids in the neighborhood worked for Bergman's growing up! I worked for them for 14 years, a lot of customer service, lol, running register, sorting and packing produce,, Fall may have been the most fun every year with pumpkins, etc., worked hard and had fun times! This area in Ottawa County is known as the "fruit belt" and peaches have always been the gem, however, this market grows many items and sells each season/year round, apples are big too. My family grew and sold peaches years ago, shipped them out on the local train to I don't know where.. It's a busy area near the lake and islands and thousands of people gravitate. Unfortunately property/acreage/family farms and homes are getting sold left and right, not much left of the township, per se'. It's become very commercial, great for local business, of course, but very expensive to try and afford to live.. It's "my home," still beautiful, and fills my heart with love.. 30 minutes from Cedar Point in Sandusky if you're familiar with the park!

I don't know "what I didn't do" Alexis, lol, the above comment is from me, Michele Hallier
