Purchased by the Crites family in the early 1920's. Used as a tenant farm for their canning factory. Last occupied in 1998, given to the Roundtown Conservancy by the estate of the last Crites who owned the house. Given to the Conservancy in 2003.
This Octagon House is actually in Pickaway County, not Pike County. Can someone change and correct this error of information please?
The house was moved about 1/4 mile to the West-Northwest to make room for the wallmart. The M.M. Crites barn and silo are still in the original location behind the Walmart. The map has been updated with the correct location of the original photo.
Correction... East-Northeast not West-Northwest. My mistake.
