Seneca Township House, former Seneca Township District 7 School, Amos Keller, Builder 1885.
6577 CR 47 south of CR 6
Section 21 Seneca Township.
In our regular meeting on 4/272026, the Seneca Township Trustees voted 2-1 to raze and replace the current Seneca Township house built in 1885. The former “one room school house” sustained heavy damage following a storm on 3/12/26. The storm tore off nearly half of the metal roof and some of the sheeting below, also causing a partial wall collapse on the West side. The subsequent water intrusion has also caused further damage to the interior. Insurance estimates to merely fix the storm damage totalled nearly $100,000. This, along with the building needing additional updates/repairs to the foundation, mechanical systems, and efficiency; weighed in this decision.
