Yale Carpenter farm just south of N Bloomfield intersection

The barn to the right of the Carpenter Home was known as the Center Brook Cheese Factory in the late 1800s. Milk was brought to this facility by area farmers where it was skimmed and made into cheese. The tall brick chimney would have been used by the boiler which was needed to clean and steam sterilize the milk equipment daily.
