This could a tourist camp style motel since it was gone before 1994. If they were small homes they would still be here. You can still see the lanes in the satellite view.
This was employee housing for Texas Eastern Gas Pipeline Company. They were vacated in the mid 1970’s and several were purchased and moved to lots on Springboro road. The rest were demolished.
Very interesting!
This same type of employee housing was at all of the compressor stations from Texas and Louisiana thru Ohio and across Pennsylvania to New York City. Ironically the same storm system that destroyed Xenia Oh on April 3, 1974 was the downfall of the housing company wide when a tornado hit the compressor station in Danville Ky damaging the station and destroying the houses. Instead of rebuilding the housing at Danville the decision was made to retire them company wide since they were around 30 years old and a significant number were not being utilized. I started working for Texas Eastern at Danville in 1975 and just retired from the Lebanon location after 45 years working all across the company.
