Home on corner of S. River Road and Peters Mountain Road. The home was removed but the trees and shrubs were left behind. I've heard rumors that this was going to be a Dunkin Donuts and/or a Rite Aid. There were lots of development rumors in that area, like a new Giant store, before the last recession. This lot is still just a lot and the only major development in the area since the 90s has been a new Sheetz, a new Shell and a mind-boggling amount of new or renovated banks and credit unions.

I guess an empty lot is cheaper to insure than a lot with a home on it because otherwise I don't know why they bothered removing the home. I doubt it burned - the fire dept is right behind it.
