Photo 3-QCA-23 from 1966

Comments

Opposite corner of Center Street and Park Avenue, Lyndonville, VT from the previous photo (3-QCA-22). Shown is 745 (large house at center), 739 (small gable-roof building behind it), and approximately 731 Center Street, Lyndonville, VT.
745 Center Street still stands today, and looks almost identical to as it was in this photograph. The landscaping has changed heavily - the tree at the corner has since matured and grown significantly, while the trees on the front and side of the house have been lost. Small bushes now dot the right side of the driveway, and a line of pines block the Park Ave side of the home from the road. The hedgerow in the rear has been allowed to grow, and is now over 6-7 feet tall.
739 Center Street, at the rear of 745, was likely a barn at the time of this photograph, though today it is a garage and has been expanded. I'm not sure if this building actually has a separate address (and is a separate lot), or if it is part of 745 Center Street. The main building is still there, but the side closest to the photographer has been turned into two garage bays. The building was expanded to the rear twice, adding smaller ells each time.
731 Center Street, what looks like an auto shop in this picture, was gone by the 2000s and replaced
at some point prior with a 1 level L-shaped ranch-style house. This was built farther back on the lot, almost in line with their neighbor at 745 Center. Where the shop stood is about where the home's front yard is today.
