The Grap Farm. My grandparents, Fritz and Lucille, lived in the "big house" and GroΓmutte lived in the log cabin (which had already been sided in this picture). I remember a lot of great times in the cavernous upstairs bedrooms, playing with my cousins and swinging on the big porch swing right under that big tree in the front of the house. Grandpa parked his El Camino in the garage near the road. The milkhouse is the middle building in the back. In the Southeast corner of the yard is Grandma's "Kitchen garden", which I think was at least an acre :) The house has been torn down and the cabin has been moved.
I spent alot of my childhood summers here on this farm with my Grandparents. Spent hours sitting in a rocking chair talking to my Greatgrandmother "grosmutte" about the past and what it was like back in the old days.. time spent with cousin's.. fishing with Grandpa...I would give anything to have those moments back.
