Route 120 runs along the bottom and Bacon Rd. along the top. View is looking SE.
The portion of cemetery showing some gravestones (photo bottom) is that of the St. Joseph Cemetery on the north side of Rte. 120 just east of Fairfield Rd. (formerly Fort Hill Rd.) The St. Joseph Cemetery was established in 1922 for the St. Joseph Church in Round Lake, IL and adjoins the Fort Hill Cemetery to the west. The Fort Hill Cemetery was organized in 1847 (see forthillcemetery.org website for further information) The house located at the end of the driveway still exists. To the left of the cemetery is now part of the Nippersink Forest Presevere.
Peggy Wagner lived in this house in the early 1960’s. She was in the class of 1965 with me at GCHS
