View looks NE. U.S. 66 is the 4-lane in the foreground. That is the Illinois Central Gulf (ex-Gulf, Mobile & Ohio/Chicago & Alton — now Union Pacific and AMTRAK) Chicago to St. Louis mainline running behind the grain silos. From Google Maps/Street View, the Elkhart water still stands!
