Just For Fun roller rink. Hwy 31, McHenry, IL
Robert Hirschmugl opened the "Just For Fun" skating rink on July 28, 1945 at this location on 941 N. Front St. In 1922, the Fox Pavilion, a dance pavilion, was opened in this area known as Conway's Grove. In 1931, a new dance hall was built, known as the Fox Pavillion, after the original building burned down. Just this past winter, the skating rank has closed and the property is for sale.
There was a fire on May 28, 2021 that destroyed the building.
